Precious Memories
was my very first solo project in the late 80's The song Precious Memories is an original on the album where I hoped to convey........ anytime someone finds true love........ regardless of what happens in the future..... it has been a good day! Precious Memories has a nice mixture of Southern Roots music, Leon Style of course with some special friends helping out.
Untold Love Story
was the next project. This was very special in that it was dedicated to my Mother who sang Gospel Hymns whereas I made my humble attempts to play along with her as I was first becoming acquainted with Mr. Piano. Along with sharing with you some of our favorites (i.e. Amazing Grace, Peace in The Valley, In The Garden, Rock of Ages etc.) and I hope yours, there is also 2 originals: Untold Love Story and Genesis........inspired by the First Chapter of Genesis.
Rock it Gordy
was done in honor of the indescribable and never ending talents of piano players that were my inspirations. Jerry Lee Lewis, Charlie Rich, Floyd Cramer, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Mickey Gilley, Fats Domino, Johnny Johnson who played with Chuck Berry, Glenn Hardin with Elvis, Professor Longhair, Dr. John of whom all made immeasurable contributions in validating the piano, as a mainstay in RocknRoll music. On Rock it Gordy, I played piano, some guitar, a few synth parts added and lead vocals, while being supported by some very fine artist at their craft (thank you all) in making this recording. In other words: WE HAD FUN!
Classics
I think for me, will be remembered as the key to the gate. In the 60's my father unknowingly destined my will. In those years he worked out of town and our time was late Saturday Evening after the chores, following the needed or not weekly haircut. We would sit in the family car just he and I on a pleasant Summer Eve and listen to the Grand Ol Opry from Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. The sounds that came from that AM dashboard radio, blended ever so pleasingly with the sounds of nighttime rural America, the smell of a young cornfield and the wind finding it's way through the rustling stalks......... as a young lad each sense adding to make the time with my dad......... so perfect. Classics was to be my gift in return. Shortly after sharing my intent to him, cancer plotted another course for his life (finding eternal peace July of 92'), which was preceded one month by my 7 year marriage ending in divorce, and the following Mother's Day, also saying eternally good bye to my Mother. 2002.....Ten years later, I with a time given joy and inward peace invite you to come and join my father and I............. where it all began. Sit back, close your eyes, listen, and please be our welcomed guest......................
